  I always get a kick out of people who compare Olbermann ratings to O'Reilly's There is no comparison. The overall rating gap is so wide it's really not even an issue, yet people make it one. Curious. Olbermann gets all hot and bothered when he gets 400K in the18-54 demo. Can you imagine that? Excited about 400K people? And I'd guess that most of them are not even voting age. Plus, BOR still beats him in the 19-54 category nearly every night of the year...and the margin there is even substantial. It's funny really.
  
  One more thing. Insulting people because someone watches FOX or MSNBC or whatever is just immature.

  Olbermann made a few interesting comments on Today's 'Worst Person' segment. As you break the audience down into younger and younger groups, Olbermann's show, (3rd in July across the cable news networks in the broadest key demo) climbs up higher and higher. Once you get to 18-34ish (could be as high as 39, i forget) Olbermann is tops with O'Reilly in 3rd. But O'Reilly still leads in the very important demographic of, as Olbermann put it, "65 to dead"

  yea but not enough people watch cable news in those demos.
  
  the thing that matters is 25-54, which olbermann is 3rd and bill is 1st. but one works for a network with zero credibility and the other for a network with limited credibility, so whatever.

  I honestly don't think that any cable network has huge amounts of credibility. CNN and HN are basically the same operation, and with Lou, Glenn and Nancy on their lineups, sure the opinion is varied, but still too heavy. Its infotainment You want news? Go to the BBC or your PBS station

  I just love the spin from both of them. You watch O'Reilly for a while and hear one thing, flip to Olbermann and get a WHOLE different slant. The effect is weird. I agree with Chris Merrill try BBC or PBS. Then at least you get a third take. That is when you have the time to play those games.

  One has to consider that much of the Fox Noise Channel audience can't read the words next to the buttons on their remote controls, so many of them don't know how to turn off the channel.
  
  But whatev, there are still 297,000,000 plus Americans that don't watch O'Reilly, and that makes me hopeful.

  It would be nice if news were bias-free, but there appears to be no such news outlet. Fox claims to be fair and balanced, but let's face it, they aren't. It all just comes down to what your viewpoints are, and you can find the programs that work with your views. It's pretty simple, really.
  
  O'Reilly obviously is a conservative.
  Olbermann obviously is a liberal.
  
  Why can't they both stop claiming they are unbiased, and stop attacking the other for being biased?

  Olbermann never has claimed to be unbiased. he simply points out how absurd it is for Faux News to claim to be "fair and balanced".

  Unfortunately, the days of unbiased news went out when Cronkite retired. If one watches BOR long enough, and has an open mind, one begins to see that he is more Libertarian than anything else. I've seen him go after the Bush administration many times. For example, it is his view that the war in Iraq was a gross mistake and says so frequently. He just thinks a knee jerk pullout would be insane, and he's right. He does, however support a withdraw when circumstances warrant it.
  
  If one saw the interview with Hillary Clinton with an open mind, one could see a pretty fair interview. In fact, Hillary has remarked how fair FOX has treated her. Again, one has to open their mind before one can see these things. For some, that can take a lot of willingness and courage.

  For all those who are quick to attack FNC, I would like to point to the ratings just at the top of this webpage to prove how FNC competes w/ the other news programs. I should say, the other programs try to fight for second....behind FNC. I watch Fox primarily; however, I do dip into the other news networks to get their point of view as well. I must say, Fox is in fact the FAIREST and most moderate news organization broadcasting on television. Yes, people like O'Reilly and Hannity lean right; however, to all those who say their bias is un-called for, I'd like to point to Obberman and Lou Dobbs and their extreme left-wing bias and personal attacks towards Bush and other prominant Republicans are un-called for and unproffessional as well. That is why FNC is #1 over the rest, in all facets might I point out. Keep hating on FNC, but the ratings and viewers don't lie.
  
  And to the gentleman saying that the viewers of FNC are 'too dumb to change the channel' take it from a college student dual-majoring in civil engineering and finance. I watch FNC; I do believe I know how to turn the channel. I just choose to not turn it to the other idiots who try to call themselves reporters who are on NBC, MSNBC, and CNN. I also am glad to watch FNC and am glad to not have to resort to immediate personal attacks on people like the gentleman I'm referring to, and the other news organizations that are...trying to catch up to FNC. There's a reason all the other news outlets bash Fox, because they can't compete.

  The one at the top owns network news. The others are also-rans.

  i guess those viewers just like to see osama/obama mixed up on the lower third of the screen and spelling education wrong. go figure.
